UPSL Announces Texas Expansion with Monterrey Rayados Irving

Irving, TX-Based Club Joins Central Conference for 2020 Season

January 29, 2020 – Los Angeles – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to announce Monterrey Rayados Irving as a member kicking off with the 2020 Spring Season.

Based in Irving (Texas), Monterrey Rayados Irving will begin UPSL play in the Central Conference North Division. The club will play its home games at Trinity View Park (2221 E. State Hwy 356, Irving, TX 75060) in compliance with UPSL National Division standards.

United Premier Soccer League National Director Matt Kahla said, "We are excited to welcome Monterrey Rayados Irving to the UPSL Central Conference North Division. The club has deep roots that extend to the Mexican giants in Monterrey, and the UPSL supports the building of connections all over the world. We wish Monterrey Rayados Irving the best of success as the club prepares for the season ahead."

Monterrey Rayados Irving is the next step for the club, which has proven successful in its regional U.S. Club Soccer circuit. Monterrey Rayados Irving will compete exclusively in the UPSL.

David Davila is President and Head Coach of Monterrey Rayados Irving. Luis Ortega is the club's General Manager.

"During the last seven years our team has played in various leagues throughout 'DFW' such as Classic League, NPL, Primetime, and others. In addition to outdoor soccer, a handful of our players also play and compete for futsal Regionals and Nationals every winter. Just last year, the team won the USYF National futsal title held in Olathe, Kansas. We just simply love the sport of soccer, and as we all know, nothing compared to having the opportunity to compete at a high level. Now, we want to take our experience to another level in joining the UPSL. We are excited to be here," Ortega said.

The club will soon announce its upcoming game schedule.

Monterrey Rayados Irving is an American Soccer club currently based in Irving, Texas, and a new member of the United Premier Soccer League. Monterrey Rayados Irving will begin play in the UPSL Central Conference.

Founded in 2013, Monterrey Rayados Irving can participate in the qualifying rounds for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup through their affiliation and membership with the UPSL, the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).

The UPSL was formed in 2011 and currently includes more than 300 teams in Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin. UPSL is the fastest growing Pro Development League in the USA, with 500-plus teams targeted for 2021. Each UPSL team is individually owned and operated, and is responsible for maintaining UPSL National League minimum standards.

UPSL teams are all eligible to participate in the U.S. Open Cup Qualifying Rounds through the leagues affiliation with the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
